Power flushing specialists Kamco have

launched its new CF210 Titan power

flushing pump designed for use on

very large domestic or commercial heating

systems, such as offices and care homes.

Commercial systems need a more powerful

power flushing pump with a larger flow rate

and greater capacity tank. The Titan meets

these criteria with a flow rate more than

double that of most power flushing pumps

on the market, and a 125-litre capacity tank.

During normal operation the flow in a

heating system is in one direction, and in

low flow areas the corrosion debris tends to

drop out and become ‘sheltered’ from any

cleaning action. To combat this, the Titan

has an integral flow reverser so that the

direction of flow can be instantly changed

to create turbulence in radiators, thus

disturbing and uplifting sludge, corrosion

deposits and debris that would otherwise be

hidden from the fast moving water. Fresh

water is then driven through the system to

purge the debris to waste. Progress can

be clearly seen at all times through the

translucent tank and clear hoses.

Despite the large tank capacity, the Titan is

relatively compact, and comes with integral

mm wheels to make it easy to transport

and move around, enabling it to cope with

kerbs and stairways.

Most flushing chemicals perform better with

increased temperature, and it is common to

fire a system boiler during the power flush

to enhance the chemical effect. The Titan

can handle temperatures up to 75°C, and

so can be used with dispersant chemicals

that need higher temperatures to perform,

as well as more powerful ‘one shot’ flushing

chemicals.
